Jennifer Childress Photography bio picture

Jennifer Childress

Jennifer began her professional career as a photographer for a local newspaper where she developed her photojournalistic style.  She also used her skills to help pay for college by offering wedding and portrait photography.  She spent six years as an architecture and interior design photographer for a major Philadelphia based firm.  During those six years, she continued to develop her skills as a wedding photographer.  She found wedding photography so rewarding as a creative outlet, she finally decided to dedicate herself to it full time in 2002.

In addition to her talents as a photographer, Jennifer has a core set of business ethics that keep her clients, their friends, and their families coming back.  She continues to make customer satisfaction her top priority.

Jennifer also specializes in Family, Infant, Pregnancy, and Boudoir photography.

Kevin York

Kevin has been a professional photographer for over twenty five years.  He is a graduate of Antonelli School of Photography.  Kevin started his photography business in 1985, primarily as a product and corporate photographer.  In 1995 Kevin was commissioned by Penske Racing to work on their product catalogs.  This led to an opening in Auto Racing Photography.  One year later her was a contributing photographer for ESPN, Racer, OnTrack and Champ Car Magazines.  He worked with many celebrities in and out of the racing world.  He was lucky enough to photograph and become friends with his boyhood hero Mario Andretti.

In 2003 Kevin was asked to photograph a friend's wedding. He decided to approach it just as he did his magazine commissions.  He shot the day just as it unfolded, having no idea that he was about to become a wedding photojournalist!  Over 150 weddings later Kevin has not looked back.  His love for creating artistic images that are cherished and passed through the generations are what motivates him as a wedding photographer.

In 2009 Jennifer Childress Photography welcomed Kevin York as Staff Photographer and Partner.

"Kevin adds his own unique style to Jennifer Childress Photography.  His laid back and fun personality, coupled with his eye for detail and creative energy, is a huge asset.  Kevin brings to the table a "documentary style" that is unrivaled in the wedding industry".  ~Jennifer Childress

Suzanne & Benjamin, Downtown Club – 5.29.09

I am so excited to blog this wedding!   OK, get yourself a cup of coffee or glass of wine because this is a LONG one!

Suzanne and Ben got hitched in grand fashion on Friday!  It was a gorgeous day in the city of Philadelphia!  As usual, I had the fabulous Pete Malone along to second shoot for me. So be sure to check out his blog!   We started out at the Embassy Suites on the Parkway for some good old fashion getting ready photos.  Our first stop was the cemetery where Ben’s Mother and Father are both laid to rest.  It was a very emotional few moments that I felt very honored to document.  Next we were off to Chinatown for bridal portraits. Suzanne worked the camera like a pro and we all had so much fun!  We finished up our portrait session at the Water Works and Art Museum area where we got some amazing photos as well.   I will let the 40+ photos below speak for themselves!  Ben & Suzanne thank you soooooo much for having us document your beautiful wedding!

I was so lucky to work with with this dream team of vendors!

This was an elegant wedding with traditional Chinese elements.  Here the Bride and Groom are doing a Chinese Tea Ceremony.  This is done to honor and respect the families of both the bride and the groom.  It was beautiful.  ben-5-of-6
